A very cute app aimed at helping children learn guitar

Once in a while, I get to do fun things that don’t involve designing invitations or printing on paper. (Imagine that!) The past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kelly Weeks, a really talented music teacher on the development of a music app, that engages young children in learning the guitar. That app has just been made available on iTunes. (I have a lot of respect for people that have the patience to teach children something as wonderful as music… Like these guys…)

This app illustration project goes down as one of the most fun ones I’ve ever done. And as a designer, it was awesome to be given total creative freedom. It was so much fun to interpret the cute lyrics, and translate them into visual form. Kasey, the main character is a happy-go-lucky little boy that loves all types music. Check him out in this video promo.

Kasey’s Guitar Jam for Kids is available for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. You can purchase it on iTunes here.
