Help these kids create their first music album

This is my 200th post, but it isn’t about anything wedding-related.

I want to tell you about a little project on Kickstarter started by a group that’s close to my heart. The Crimson Kings Drum, Fife & Bugle Corps is a non-profit youth organization that teaches children the fundamentals of music and marching. They are a small, grass roots group that performs in parades and events citywide. They are small. So small, that as you can see from the Kickstarter video, they use a school gymnasium, unused classrooms and storage spaces to teach their lessons.

This group provides children with a place to learn music free of charge. In a city that is hurting from arts programs funding cuts, this generous organization has been quietly serving the community, and marching in parades since 1953. The members who have been a part of this group over the years, have gone on to graduate college and become successful in their own endeavors.

And now, the group needs your help.

The Crimson Kings is looking to help the kids create something they can be proud of: their first music album. The purpose of this album is so they can have recorded music to submit when applying for entry to events such as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It has always been a dream for them to march in a parade that practically takes place in their own town.

Go help them out. Send them a few dollars and make their weekend. You can’t look at these cute faces all dressed up in uniform, and not smile!
