Some rejected prototypes for an Indian inspired wedding. I just love the vibrancy of the color combinations, and will probably come around to creating finished sets of these when I have more time.

I’m also contemplating different sized cards. Right now I’m finishing up on some fun sets for for the Homeshow, and have been thinking about making smaller and larger sized cards for a bit more variety. What do you think? What would you like to see more of in my shop?

New to you, but not to my Flea visitors. I’ve created this one (and several others) about a month ago, and still haven’t had a chance to list it in my shop yet. (Don’t worry, I will soon.) It’s so new I don’t even have a name for the set! Any suggestions?

I’ll choose from a name from all the suggestions and the winner receives a set of note cards of his/her choice. Winning name will be chosen on Wednesday, May 7th. (You may want to check out some of my other titles for a better idea of what I like to name things.)

The group is called HOST (Helping Others Street Team). Their mission is to help out those in need. By setting up a shop, they’re able to gather donations from other sellers who are generous enough to share, sell the items, and use the proceeds to donate to those who may be a bit down on their luck. It’s a good group to be a part of. So often we think of ourselves and how we can get ahead, and we don’t give thought to those who are less fortunate.

I had this design done for a while, but was only able to upload the photos today. It’s basically elements from the HOST logo rearranged.

Sorry dude. I don’t care to rebuild that particular one from the way I was treated. Especially not one that sends threat letters and lies about what happened. From my perspective, burning that bridge was good riddance. You guys are far from being the only shop in town.

Hope the new owners actually do something about the lack of professionalism at that place, because we all know it went downhill from the moment they decided to bully their workers.

I met up with some of the other Brooklyn Homeshow designers yesterday and we’re pretty much all set to go! The only thing now, is to have you guys show up! In the coming days you’ll start to see our posters around town.

And we’re actually planning a little opening party the Friday evening before the actual show, which is for friends and family. But I’d like to invite you guys as well, so… You’re invited!

While Saturday is primarily the shopping event, the Friday night shindig will be a great way to meet local artists, designers, and neighbors alike. As an independent designer, it’s nice to be able to chat with fellow Brooklynites, and to get their take on what we’re trying to do.

Most of us don’t have the resources to get ourselves into huge brand name retail shops, and the truth is, because we hand make all our work, sometimes it’s a bit challenging to reach the level of success that our non-handmade counterparts reach. We create our goods in the comforts of our own apartment, and a lot of love go into each piece.

So even if you have already spent all your rebate checks, come stop by anyway either Friday night or Saturday! Besides, we don’t want all that food, wine and goody bags to go to waste!
